Welcome to AFSIB
The Indian Branch of Asian Fisheries Society (AFSIB), which came into being in 1986, has been holding the triennial Indian Fisheries and Aquaculture Fora very regularly in different parts of India since 1987. The 11th IFAF was held under the aegis of the Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Kochi in November 2017 very successfully. The 12th IFAF due in 2020 could not be organized in time because of Covid 19 pandemic. Dr. J. Jayalalithaa Tamil Nadu Fisheries University which had succeeded in bidding for the 12th IFAF will be conducting it from 5 to 7 May, 2022 in Chennai, with the theme "Fish for Nutritional Security and Economical Sustainability".
